2020 Continuing Professional Education Trainings
Share |

PHCCLA is proud to provide Continuing Professional Education for Master and Journeymen Plumbers, Tradesmen, Gas Fitters, and Master Gas Fitters. The CPE credit obtained through these programs will be applicable for 2020 license renewals only.

Due to COVID-19, the State Plumbing Board of Louisiana (SPBLA) has modified the requirements for obtaining continuing education to allow for a correspondence course for the 2020 calendar year. PHCCLA is pleased to offer this option in addition to live classes, so that you may have two options for completing your required continuing education.

Option 1: Attend LIVE Class

PHCCLA is now holding live classes beginning in September. PHCCLA will continue to monitor the viability of holding classes.  Should it be necessary for PHCCLA to cancel a class due to low attendance or for safety reasons, we will automatically transfer your registration to a correspondence course or another live class of your choice.

NOTE: Currently Cancelled Classes

NOTE: Additional Class Added

Kenner, November 11, 2020

Option 2: Complete CORRESPONDENCE Class

The SPBLA has provided materials to allow for a correspondence class in leu of attending a live class.  A correspondence class is a course in which you complete the course at home, receiving your work by mail or email, and sending back to PHCCLA.

How do I register for the Correspondence Class?

PHCCLA will accept registration for these courses from May 1 - November 15, 2020.  Select “Correspondence Class” during your registration.

How will I receive class materials?

You will be asked on your registration form if you would like to receive materials digitally or physically.  Digital materials will be emailed to you within 5 business days of receiving your registration.  Physical materials will be mailed via USPS mail within 5 business days of receiving your registration.

What is the cost for this class?

The Correspondence Class will be the same as “Late Registration” fees for live classes with an additional $20 convenience fee.

How do I get credit for the class?

Along with your textbook, you will receive a credit report form, evaluation form and test.  All three must be completed and returned to PHCCLA.  You must receive a 70% passing grade on your test to receive credit.  If you do not pass, you will have an opportunity to re-take your test for a fee of $25.

How long do I have to complete the class?

You will have 30 days from the date of emailing or shipping your materials to return your materials for completion.

How will my participation be reported to SPBLA?

PHCCLA will report passing participation on the 15th of each month, June-December.

Space will be limited for each class - don't delay registering.  Walk-ins may not be allowed to enter class if the class is at full capacity.
